About the Artwork
This original hand-painted artwork by Katherine Edney has been meticulously crafted on birch timber panel, built up through multiple, fine layers of oil paint.
The work explores the motif of bedsheets as a metaphor for both comfort and contemplation. Offering a place of security and retreat, they are equally a space where the mind drifts, ideas surface, and quiet reflections unfold.
Katherine lives and works in Sydney, Australia, and holds a Master of Fine Arts (Research, Painting) from COFA, UNSW. She has been a multiple finalist in the Archibald Prize (2020, 2019), the Salon des Refusés, and numerous other awards.
A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the artwork upon purchase.

We pack our paintings with great care, first we start with high-quality bubble wrap and then create custom boxes to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
We supply a certificate of authenticity with each artwork to ensure provenance.
Artworks are dispatched within 3 business days of purchase (unless included in our 'Current Exhibition', in which case will be sent within a week of the exhibition ending) and usually take between 2-5 days for delivery within Australia.
Smaller artworks are sent via Express Australia Post with signature on delivery and larger items are sent via DHL with signature on delivery or dedicated art couriers.
Shipping costs are noted within the product description and are added at checkout, clients may choose to add delivery insurance as an add-on cost.
International shipping will be calculated after an order has been made and a separate invoice sent. If you would prefer to receive a quote before ordering please click ‘Enquire’ on any artwork and provide your full address. Please note, international customers are responsible for any applicable local duties and/or sales tax.
We offer a flexible lay-by option, 30% non-refundable deposit payable over 6 months.

If you would like to return your purchase for any reason, please contact us directly within 7 days and we will happily arrange the return. Artwork must be returned in its original packaging and in the same condition. Please note, shipping costs for the order and return will not be refunded.

Katherine Edney lives and works in Sydney. She holds a Master of Fine Arts by Research (Painting) from COFA, UNSW (2008) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours Class 1 (2004).

Edney has been a multi-time finalist in the Archibald Prize (2020, 2019), Salon des Refuses (2024, 2022, 2021), Portia Geach Memorial Award (2020, 2014, 2012), Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize (2019, 2018), Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship (2012, 2011) and STILL: National Still Life Award (2021), and NEAP National Emerging Art Prize 2024, among others. She recently won the painting award at the Hornsby Art Prize for her work ‘I want to lie in the clouds with you’.
