

Cathryn McEwen
Cathryn McEwen, an accomplished visual artist with an M.Ed in Visual Arts, has been exhibiting her work since the 1980s. With a rich background in education, she has taught Visual Communication at the Design Centre Enmore and UTS and trained visual art teachers at UTS.
A passionate advocate for the Central Coast art community, Cathryn founded the Art Studios Cooperative in 2014, which produced 75 exhibitions over four years. She has also been a key member of the 5 Lands Artists Collective since 2012, playing a pivotal role in establishing the 5 Lands Art Trail.
At the Gosford Regional Gallery, Cathryn teaches painting and drawing, coordinates workshops, and manages the annual 20x20 Art Exhibition. Her contemporary still-life paintings explore the interplay of light, memory, and history, capturing the beauty of collectible glass objects and their nostalgic connection to Australia’s past.
Cathryn’s work has been recognized in major art prizes, including the Kennedy Prize, Lethbridge Art Prize, North Sydney Art Prize, Hornsby Art Prize, and Gosford Art Prize.
