From the Artist... 
The upholstery on the owl's chair is inspired by a coat worn by Dutch model and 1970s style icon Talitha Getty in a Moroccan rooftop photo taken by Lord Litchfield for Vogue in 1969. French designer Yves Saint Laurent reportedly said that Talitha and her oil heir husband John Paul Getty, embodied the spirit of a generation: “lying on a starlit terrace in Marrakech, beautiful and damned…”, a phrase that captures the glamorous and bohemian aura around them.

The background of the painting features part of the El Dorado scenic wallpaper (1915–25) designed by Eugène Ehrmann, Georges Zipélius and Joseph Fuchs. It also includes a scene from my visit to Kelaat M'Gouna, often called the 'Valley of Roses,' nestled in the Dades Valley.
